GLOBAL AUTHORITY IN PREMIUM ALFALFA SEED
Advanced genetics proven to withstand severe soil salinity and alkalinity.
Alfalfa: The Gold Standard Forage
Alfalfa is the third most valuable U.S. crop, cultivated on 21 million acres. It is the premier feed for dairy, beef, goats, sheep, horses, and camels due to low fiber and high protein.
- Dairy Benefits: Boosts milk yields, provides essential minerals, offers high digestibility, and is highly palatable.
- Global Value: High-yielding legume used for hay, silage, grazing, or green chop. Top export markets include Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, the Middle East, and North Africa.
Soil & Crop Management
Alfalfa naturally fixes its own nitrogen through Sinorhizobium meliloti root bacteria.
- Optimal Soil: Well-drained soils with a neutral pH of 6.8–7.5. Requires high potassium and moderate salt tolerance.
- Rotation Benefits: Fixes nitrogen, improves water infiltration, controls erosion, and boosts subsequent crop yields.
- Seeding Rates: Contains ~199,000 seeds per pound.
- Broadcasting: 20–25 lbs/acre (22–28 kg/ha) via spreaders.
- Drilling: 15–20 lbs/acre (17–22 kg/ha) via precision machinery.
- Yields: Averages 8–10 dry tons per acre (up to 16 tons/acre under ideal management).
MK Agriculture Non-Dormant 9–11 Seed
MK Agriculture specializes in a non-GMO, chemical-free, non-dormant Fall Dormancy 9–10 seed mix optimized for warm climates like Mexico, the Middle East, and North Africa.
- The Winter Advantage: Traditional varieties (Dormant 4–5) go dormant in winter. MK Agriculture’s seed grows vertically and stays active year-round, delivering 9–10 cuts per year over a 3–5-year life cycle. (Avoid freezing highland regions).
- Exclusive Seed Coating: Every seed features a precise mineral compound for fast rooting, a premium fungicide for disease defense, and fresh Rhizobium for immediate nitrogen fixation.
Premium Enhanced Varieties
Our next-generation breeding lines deliver 5–12% higher annual forage production per field compared to CUF 101, while exhibiting superior tolerance to soil salinity, water salinity, and alkaline conditions:
- SOL™ (2019): Engineered for maximum forage production and excellent adaptation across diverse environmental conditions.
- K101™ (2020): Selected for superior productivity, long-term stand persistence, and enhanced tolerance to saline and alkaline soils.
- Padrino™ (2020): A robust variety combining strong yield potential with high adaptability to challenging agricultural zones.
- Luna™ (2021): An advanced-generation variety offering outstanding forage quality, seedling vigor, and maximum climate resilience.
Product Options
- Certified vs. Non-Certified: Certified seed guarantees 100% freedom from noxious weeds like Cuscuta (Dodder). Non-certified is safe up to 95% at a lower price point. Check local import laws before ordering.
- Coated vs. Raw: Advanced coated seed features our signature red treatment, improving germination and survival. Coated seed is roughly 20% cheaper than raw seed. Untreated raw seed is available for organic farms upon request.
